2009 Emergency Responses / 911 Call Center Dispatches

In 2009, St. George Firefighters responded to a total of 6754 dispatches from the 911 Call Center. This was down  7.8% from the record number of calls made in 2008.  Note that our highest volume years of 2005 and 2008 are linked to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005 and Hurricane Gustav in 2008.

The assistance we provide ranges from fighting fire, to rescue, to providing first response in medical emergencies, to extricating traffic accident victims and aiding EMS, to investigating and protecting the public from any number of potentially hazardous conditions.

If you live in our coverage area and have an emergency, call 911.  The St. George Fire Department will be on its way to help you and your family.
